Lake Kumeyaay used to be called Hollins Lake
It was formerly a quarry along the San Diego River above the Padre Dam.
It is now part of Mission Trails Park, operated by San Diego.
Our first visit came shortly after a rainy week!
Water was flowing over a spillway at the lake's west end when we walked by,
but it we could tell it had been about 4 feet higher the night before.
Here's a look at the lake on our second visit; a nice winter's day
after a 4-mile hike along the San Diego River ponds in Lakeside.
