Whelan Lake was formerly part of a dairy farm.

When the dairy Collapsed, the lake was deeded to the
Audubon Society as a bird sanctuary.

The birds clearly know that this is THEIR place,
not ours.

We went in December,
on the first Saturday of the month at 8 am

(the only time of the week that it's open to the public).

It was a gloomy day, but not for the Ducks.
